Kiam la senco de iu vorto ne estas la sama, se (↓19) tiu ĉi vorto estas verbo aŭ substantivo, oni aldonis la verbigan prepozicion to, aŭ la literojn: vb, post la vorto. Ekz.: arm = to arm. La vorto arm signifus: brako, kun to oni tuj komprenas, ke ĝi signifas armi.

Kiam la traduko bezonas aldonan vorton por klarigi la unuan, oni aldonis ĝin. Ekz.: la vorto order signifas ĉu ordeno, ĉu ordo, ĉu mendo, ĉu mendado, k.t.p. Order bezonas do klarigan vorton.
